It feels like I'm flying on the rapturous, reckless wings of joy and here's why. In the past two months these four incredibly talented poets, Marc Frazier, Barry Peters, Douglas Cole and Lauren Dvis have written the most amazing reviews of my chapbook, "Boys." Some of these reviews are forthcoming soon in major Literary Journals. Then on December 1st the little guy is born into the world and leaves his nest at Duck Lake Books, and leads me into the hands and hearts of people who want to listen. Then two months later on February 1st my first full length collection, "Waxing The Dents," which was a finalist for the Brick Road Poetry Prize leaves the driveway in Columbus Georgia headed out into the wilderness looking for faces to see themselves in those wounded pages of wonder. And there will be angels to guide and protect them with real loving word like wings on their backs. On "Boys," the poets and friends Philip F. Clark and Ed Harkness. And on "Waxing The Dents," John Sibley Williams, Ace Boggess and Robert Carr. Please don't ever stop writing and trusting that what you feel already lives in others who have never heard it said in a poem but now you are giving them the greatest gift, the radical permission to be themselves! And finally for the indescribable power of the cover Art done for "Boys" by my beloved wife, Laura L Coe
and to my dearest friend Jas Milam for "Waxing The Dents."
This life is too short to offer such thanks, but I will spend the rest of it trying!
